Induction Process

2026 Collingwood & District Sports Hall of Fame Nomination Forms — Now Open for Submission!

The Collingwood & District Sports Hall of Fame was established to acknowledge the significant and exceptional achievements and contributions to the Town of Collingwood’s sports heritage and culture. Since 1974, its mandate has been to ensure that esteemed local sports teams and individuals are commemorated and celebrated in the original dedicated home of the Collingwood and Area Sports Hall of Fame. From the outset, it was made clear that induction would be reserved for men and women of Collingwood who have made outstanding contributions to the sports scene, with every candidate judged on the manner in which he or she has played the game.

There shall be three (3) classes of induction into the Collingwood Sports Hall of Fame.

1. Athlete
2. Builder
3. Championship Team

The Nomination Forms are available to be completed on the Eligibility Criteria tab during the Request for Nomination period.

Selection Committee

All nominations are vetted by the Selection Committee. This committee consists solely of esteemed Hall of Fame Athlete and Builder Inductees, representing diverse genders and scope of athletics from within our region.
Selection committee members cast a “yes” or “no” vote for each applicant in a private vote. Candidates in all categories must receive a majority of yes votes to advance to induction. Vote totals will not be
publicly announced.
The same endorsement policy (simple majority) will apply for athletes, builders and teams..  The Committee’s recommendations are then presented for approval at a subsequent BOD meeting for final approval.
